[Good Bye, Yeosu Expo] The Very First Social Expo!
Professor Kyung-bae Min (Kyung Hee Cyber University) contributed to one of the popular presses, Segye in Korea on August 16. He praised Yeosu Expo as the very first social expo as people called London Olympic as Socialympics.
The following article is what he said in his writing:
“The Organizing Committee for Yeosu Expo has operated 18 SNS channels including Twitter, Facebook, blog, me2day, Flicker, Youtube, and Wikitree in Korean, English, Japanese, and Chinese.
Operation of those SNS channels could be rated as successful. A total of 2 million people visited the official blog, 50 thousand people liked the official Facebook page, 50 thousand Twitterians followed the official Twitter account, and 1.5 million people watched UCC through Youtube. These numbers could be said as meaningful in that other SNS channels operated by organizations had difficulty in getting popular.
Contents were also abundant. About 100 contents on daily basis have been offered. Various videos regarding Yeosu Expo as well as some events had been broadcasted through online social broadcasting.
Above all, the most remarkable thing in relation to SNS channels of Yeosu Expo was the contribution of SNS Supporters – another name of volunteers of Yeosu Expo. They proposed new roles of volunteers by delivering and spreading a variety of information and contents related to Yeosu Expo through SNS channels.
I believe that Yeosu Expo’s beautiful and exciting stories in the new ocean of SNS could be remembered as a good case of Social Expo.”
Yeony and Suny also thank the efforts of SNS Supporters during the Expo and your enthusiasm on Yeosu Expo! 😀
