[July 29] Let’s Meet the World: Romania

<Danube Delta >

Romania is located in Southeastern Europe, bordering the Black Sea, between Bulgaria and Ukraine. It has temperate climate of cold, cloudy winters with frequent snow and fog; sunny summers with frequent showers and thunderstorms. Population of Romania comprises about 21 million, and the capital city is Bucharest comprising about 2 million populations.

Romania Pavilion is displaying Danube Delta and its importance as a home of animals and organisms. Danube Delta is a wetland known for its huge size, and various kinds of organisms living in the Danube Delta. It is one of the best tourist sites in Romania. However, it is now suffering from contamination issue, which is caused by air pollution in south from industrial effluents.

Yeony and Suny do not want to lose this beautiful nature! Let’s work hard to reduce pollutions, and save the animals and numerous organisms existing in the Danube Delta!

On July 29, Romania celebrated its National Day at Expo Hall of Yeosu Expo. The event began with brief greetings and introduction. Then followed by introduction, Tuvalu’s amazing instrument performances took a place. This instrument is called Panflute which is Romania traditional instrument. This even was performed by Korea Panflute Association, and Gheorghe Zamfir. G Gheorghe Zamfir is one of the Paflute pioneers who spread the culture of Panflute globally.
