[July 11] Local government’s day: Gangwon-do

Gangwon-do, a province of Republic of Korea, is located in the mid-eastern part of the country. The province borders with Gyeonggi-do to the west, Gyeongsangbuk-do and Chungcheongbuk-do to the south, and the East Sea to the east. Gangwon and Kangwon of North Korea, which are next to each other today, used to be a single province before the division of Korean Peninsula in 1945. Gangwon-do is divided into two areas called Yeongdong and Yeongseo. Its capital is Chuncheon.

Today, July 11th, Gangwon-do celebrates their Local Government’s Day. To congratulate today, impressive dance performances were given. The interpretative dance Taepyungmu showed beauty of Korean traditional culture. Taepyungmu demonstrated lives and mood of Gangwon-do successfully. Yeony and Suny are sure that Yeosu and other parts around the world all fell in love with Gangwon today, especially thanks to the dance stages.
