[June 20] Let’s meet the world: Russia
Russia, officially the Russian Federation, is a country in northern Eurasia. This country shares borders with Norway, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland, Belarus, Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, China, Mongolia, and even North Korea. Russia is the largest country in the world, while it is also the eighth most populous country. In terms of the natural resources, Russia is the largest producer of oil and natural gas. There is the world’s largest amount of mineral and energy resources in Russia. This nation is a permanent member of the United Nations Security Council and the leading member of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
Today (June 20th) is the National Day of Russia at Expo 2012. To celebrate this important date, Ambassador of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Korea, Mr. Konstantin Vnukov visited Yeosu Expo. A brilliant cultural program also made today special. Russian beautiful dancers impressed the audience tonight.
The first part of the cultural program was done by the Nadezhda Sergeyevna Nadezhdina State Academic Choreographic Ensemble “Berezka”, who had had a showcase in Pyongyang before. Their stage was successful. Also, a gala by the dancers from Russia’s world famous theater was a huge success. The Bolshoi Theater, Mariinsky Theatre, «Kremlin Ballet» Theater and Stanislavski and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Academic Music Theater touched the audience.
