[June 17] Let’s meet the world: Sudan
Sudan, officially the Republic of the Sudan, is an Arab state located in North Africa, which is considered part of the Middle East as well. This country is surrounded by Eritrea and Ethiopia to the east, Chad to the West, South Sudan to the south, and Egypt to the north, The Nile River divides the country between the east and west. As a member of the United Nations, Sudan also belongs to the African Union, Arab League, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and so on. Khartoum is the capital of Sudan and, as such, the center of its economy, government and culture.
Sudan hosts the National Day at Yeosu Expo today, June 17th. Mr. Fadul Abdalla Fadul Bahar, State Minister of Trade of Sudan, visited Yeosu to celebrate the National Day. Sudanese performers gave their utmost on their first stage in Korea to commemorate today. Musicians from Sudan also brightened up the stage, by playing traditional instruments like African drums and Arabian lutes. The National Ensemble for Sudanese Traditional Music touched the audience with Sudan’s cultural dances and traditional music.
