UNHCR opens its exhibition at Yeosu Expo to celebrate World Refugee Day.

The Korean mission to the UNHCR (the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner of Refugee) starts displaying images and videos on “Risk at Sea, Rescue at Sea: The Choice Is Yours.”  The purpose of the exhibit is to commemorate World Refugee Day, which is June 20th.

All the visuals will tell you the stories of real refugees who take risk themselves to sail and flee to other countries. Here is a woman that lost her life on her dangerous voyage to Yemen. Her only hope was to give her son a new life in a safe country. Millions of people have died in the attempts to flee every year; however, most of survivors say that the ocean was the last option to survive.

The exhibition will be held with a variety of events from June 17th to 30th at gallery 1 in the UN Pavilion. Opening hours are from 9 am to 9 pm. Let’s make a first step towards real peace together!

Let’s listen to a story of a survival!
