[June 12] Let’s meet the world: Ajerbaijan
Ajerbaijan, officially the Republic of Ajerbaijan, is a secular and unitary constitutional republic.. It is located in Eastern Europe, and is bounded by the Caspian Sea to the east, Armenia to the west, Russia to the north, and Iran to the south. Petroleum and natural gas are abundant in Ajerbaijan, which already has strong oil and metallurgy industry. The name Ajerbaijan means the ‘land of fire according to its close relationship to fire. Ajerbaijan is known for its highest levels of tolerance and support for secularism among the Muslim-majority countries. This nation is a founding member of Organization for Democracy and Economic Development (GUAM), the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons.

Ajerbaijan hosts the National Pavilion Day today (June 12th). The delegations and artists from Ajerbaijan all visited Yeosu Expo to celebrate today. H. E. Rovshan Jamshidov, Ambassador of the Republic of Ajerbaijan in Republic of Korea, made a speech and gave a gift to the Korean government representative. Ajerbaijan State Dance Ensemble, a world renowned group, participated in the event to celebrate the National Day. Their fancy, impressive and symbolic dances touched the audience. Nating Shirinov Rhythm Group, which is acclaimed for the best Nagara (Ajerbaijani traditional drum) performance over Eastern Europe, performed Ajerbaijani folk dances for the National Day as well.
Ajerbaijani pavilion is all set for its National Day event today. Let’s enjoy sound and rhythm of Ajerbaijan, the land of fire!
