[June 5] Let’s meet the world: Kenya
<Nairobi National Park of Kenya>
Kenya, officially the Republic of Kenya, is a country in East Africa that lies on the equator. It shares border with Tanzania, Uganda, South Sudan, Ethiopia and Somalia and meets the Indian Ocean in the southern east. The name of this country came after Mount Kenya, the second highest mountain in Africa. The coast line region is warm and humid and this climate changes to wildlife-rich savannah grasslands moving inland towards the capital, Nairobi. Nairobi has a cool climate and it becomes colder approaching Mount Kenya. One of landmarks of Kenya, Nairobi National Park which was established in 1946 is relative small size for other African national parks but it boasts a large and varied wildlife population.
Today (June 5), Kenya hosts their National Day at the Expo and celebrated their participation in Expo 2012 Yeosu Korea. Their celebration stage was directed under a theme of “Kenya Yesterday, Kenya Today, and Kenya Tomorrow.” They showed their past, present and future using traditional instrument and dance. Audiences were inspired with their indigenous stage!
