An Exclusive chance to experience the RB Araon, the first Korean large icebreaker!
On June 6 and 7, the Korean first large icebreaker, the RB Araon will meet Expo visitors.
The vessel was designed to endure the extreme temperature ranging from the degree of -30 to 50 Celsius. It is capable of world’s best researches with around 60 newest oceanographic equipments such as a sound locator and monitoring device. The RB Araon was commissioned in 2009 and has supplied the King Sejong Station (Korea’s Antarctic research station).
Especially for child visitors, the crews are planning to tell their experience at polar region and the importance of studying climate change issues and the ocean. It would be wonderful chance for children to dream being a scientist!
