Monaco, officially the Principality of Monaco is a sovereign city state located in Western Europe. The Principality of Monaco is superbly situated between the sea on the edge of Mediterranean coast and mountains at the foot of the Southern Alps. It shares the border with France and it meets the Mediterranean Sea. Monaco is the second smallest country and most densely populated country in the world. Also, this nation has the world’s highest life expectancy at almost 90 years and the lowest unemployment rate at 0%. As of 2010, Monaco’s population was estimated at 35,881 and the official language is French. Monaco has been governed as a constitutional monarchy since 1911, with the Prince as chief of state and now is being led by H.S.H. Prince Albert II, descendant of the Grimaldi Dynasty (one of the oldest in the world with more than 700 years). Finally, the nation is under Mediterranean climate which is influenced by the oceanic climate and the humid subtropical climate – it has warm and dry summers and mild and rainy winters.

As a participant country to the Expo 2012 Yeosu Korea, the King of Monaco, H.S.H. Prince Albert II visited today (June 3) to celebrate their National Day at the Expo. Also, he will participate in high-level experts’ meetings on the development of Protected Marine Areas in the context of the Third Monaco Blue Initiative (MBI). According to Monaco Pavilion, H.S.H Prince Albert II is at the expo to honour its theme of “The Living Ocean and Coast.” One-hundred four countries have set up pavilions dedicated to protection of the oceans at Yeosu Expo.

This is not all. There is one more surprising present for all the visitors from the world. The world’s famous director, Jacques Perrin who directed “Oceans” in 2010 will meet the visitors at 4:00pm at the Expo Hall. Monaco Pavilion will introduce him to the visitors and will show his master piece, Oceans.
