[May 29] Let’s meet the world: Eritrea

Eritrea, officially, the State of Eritrea is a country in the Horn of Africa (Northeast Africa). Sudan, Ethiopia, Djibouti share the border with Eritrea and its capital is Asmara. It has an extensive coastline meeting the Red Sea. Dahlak Archipelago and several of the Hanish Islands are the parts of Eritrea. Its climate is generally hot. Along the Red Sea coast dry desert is scattered and it is cooler and wetter in the central highlands. In 2006, Eritrea announced it would become the first country in the world to turn its entire coast into an environmentally protected zone.

To celebrate their National Day at the Expo on May 29, they brought a performance team of “Sibrit.” Their celebration stage was directed under a theme of “Rainbow Colors of Eritrea.” Eritrea consists of 8 ethnicities and each of them has its own culture and life style. So, the performance expressed both the harmony of all the different 8 ethnicities and cultural diversity of them. The beauty of Eritrea can be said to come from its diversity.

Let’s meet their performances with some photos! Enjoy them!
