[May 22] Let’s meet the world: Oman
Oman, officially called the Sultanate of Oman is an Arab state in southwest Asia on the southeast coast of the Arabian Peninsula. United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia and Yemen share the border with Oman. Its coast meets Arabian Sea on the southeast and the Gulf of Oman on the northeast. Dry desert climate is dominant and it is hot and humid along coast. Its economy is heavily dependent on dwindling oil resources. They were among the first place to embrace Islam.
The Minister of Interior Minister, H.E Sayyid Hamound bin Faisal al Busaidi hosted Oman’s National Pavilion Day at the Yeosu Expo. He expressed the depth of bilateral relations between Korean and Oman. Sultanate of Oman Pavilion celebrated their hosting of National Pavilion Day at the Yeosu Expo with the stage of Al-majd folklore Band. The band founded as an Omani representative traditional performing team in 1986 hit the stage with Omani traditional dance, instrument and song.

The Sultanate of Oman Pavilion is appealing visitors under a theme of “Conservation and Regeneration of the Marine Environment.” Their interior and exterior design embodies the history and culture of the Omani people throughout the ages in marine explorations and the role played by the Sultanate in the protection of marine natural resources. As a country which has shown great interest in protecting environment and natural resources for being a legacy of the Sultanate, they aim to introduce the geography, history and civilization Oman, highlight the development achievements at all levels, and also take part in international issues regarding Expo’s theme, the Living Ocean and Coast.
