[May 20] Let’s meet the world: Indonesia
Indonesia, officially the Republic of Indonesia, is a country in Southeast Asia and Oceania. The nation consists of about 17,508 islands and is the world’s fourth most populous country. The capital is Jakarta and Papua New Guinea, East Timor and Malaysia share the border. Its weather is tropical. Indonesia’s economy is the world’s seventeenth largest by nominal GDP and fifteenth largest by purchasing power parity. It is one of the fastest growing major economies in the world.
Indonesia hosted National Pavilion Day today (May 20) and they directed their celebrating stage with their traditional culture. The first part was Indonesia Dance Performance by Artina Indonesia Dance Team which is Indonesia’s cultural heritage. They showed Wira Periwi Dance which expressed brave female warriors who never surrender as vivid and bold dance. Also, Tari Rampai Aech which is traditional dance of Aceh province and Gandes Kips Dance which expresses physical and emotional changes youths undergo to be a grown-up attracted audience. The second part of today’s stage was Angklung Musical Performance by Daeng Udjo Angklung Musical Team where audiences could join playing Indonesian traditional instrument.
