Be ready to enjoy Yeosu Expo and local festivals together!
The Organizing Committee for Expo 2012 Yeosu Korea informs you some wonderful festivals held by local governments near Yeosu. It will be the best spring trip whether you visit Yeosu Expo and experience local festivals as well.
From May 25 to July 8, Gokseong Global Rose Festival will be held at Seomjingang Train-village. You will enjoy various roses such as standard type, mini type, etc. from Europe and a rose-song concert.
From May 17 to 20, Goheung-gun will have Nok-Dong Sea Fireworks Festival. The night sky will be lit up with big fireworks with the title, ‘flames of hope, become stars’ on the coast of So Rok Do.
From May 16 to 20, Bosung Green Tea Festival will be held at Bosung called the capital of green tea in Korea.
From May 18 to 20, there will be Nagan folklore culture festival. The festival consists of cultural events such as folk game, martial music, parades, gayageum contest, etc. Nagan is also famous for dramas such as Dong-Yi, Dae Jang Geum leading the Korean Wave.
From May 25 to 27, you can visit Suncheon ECOGEO Festival with life, memories, and future. You can experience an eco-camping, floating garden, Jo-Rye lake park, and movie museum.
From May 19 to 20, there will be Bomulseom Anchovy Festival. You can enjoy various events for free such as catching anchovy. Also, it will be a great trip way connecting Yeosu and Southern sea.
There will be a colorful festival, called Gwangyang World Art Circus Festival near Gwangyang port during the entire time period of Yeosu Expo. The Festival brings art circuses from around the world together on one stage. Circuses from the US, UK, Spain, Slovakia, China, and Korea will stage fantastic performances that reflect the unique cultures of each country.
From May 11 to 16, 2012 Yeosu Expo sailboat festival is held at marine exhibition. Fancy and splendid ships on Yeosu’s night sea will be a nothing sort of spectacular.
