Suncheon Open Film is Located in Jorye-dong, Suncheon-si, Jeollanam-do. It reproduces a main street in the outskirts of Seoul in the 1980s, a poor hillside village in Seoul in the 1960s, and downtown Suncheon-eup, so it brings to life memories of days past, serving as a great educational site for children and a place of reminiscing for adults.

Set of the television drama “East of Eden”

The set features a perfect reproduction of common scenes in Korea 30-40 years ago. Periods from the 1960s to the 80s are arranged in different sections to ensure perfect realism for each time period. This careful layout was planned from the designing stage to make the set appealing as a tourist attraction.

Downtown Suncheon-eup in the 1960s

You will see an old album when getting into Suncheon Open Film Set. To the left of a gray-colored building is a main street in the outskirts of Seoul in the 1980s, and to the right is downtown Suncheon-eup in the 1960s.

there are numerous other buildings from the old days such as a theater, a billiard hall, a bar, a drug store, a pawn shop, etc. Old ad flyers are stuck all over the walls, too. you will see traces of times of old along the alley here and there.

There is also a reproduction of a poor hillside village in the 1960s Next to the main street in the outskirts of Seoul.

Suncheon Open Film Set makes you feel as if you have entered a totally different and mysterious world. Small houses are packed together along web-like narrow alleys. Old rusty furnaces, black briquettes, shacks, and small shops with blinking bulbs trigger memories of our favorite TV drama scenes.
